                            Kirsten Henckel is a 20-year-old and began playing soccer at the age of seven. It was her ‘soccer-
                     mad’ Danish father who introduced her to the sport and registered her with the Ngaruawahia club. Her
                     mother too played and was the goalkeeper for Ngaruawahia when Kirsten was nine.
                            Kirsten began playing for women’s teams at 13 and has played for both the Ngaruawahia and
                     Huntly  clubs.  She  has  been  in  the  Waikato  Under  17  rep  team  and  Waikato  Under  19  rep  team.  In
                     addition to playing, Kirsten is currently the manager of the Ngaruawahia Bluebird Premier First Division
                     team.
                            Kirsten describes herself as an “all-rounder” with her main position being right back.  Kirsten’s
                     sister, April, is goalkeeper for the Huntly team. She took up soccer at the age of four.
