6 Craig Pilcher
4 Cameron Coombes It was a pleasure to coach a happy team that had good parental
2 Craig Richardson support right through the year at every game. With 14 players turning up
3 Francis Prendergast for every match it meant that six had to have half a game each week. Every
1 Craig Stephens player willingly stood down when asked to. Probably, if I had kept the best
1 Wayne Merrin players for every game, our win ratio would have been better, but every squad
Table member has to start somewhere.
16 Western Utd Indians It is hard to single out any particular player when everyone has
14 Knighton Hunters improved. However, the Trophy winners certainly deserved their
8 Glenview Jaguars awards.
6 Ngaruawahia From our first game when we arrived in Hamilton to find
6 Forest lake White our opponents had one to Te Awamutu to play us, to the last game
2 Huntly Hurricanes which was drawn, they were a cheerful, happy bunch of kids.
Mr & Mrs Stephens donated a small trophy to be presented to the
Player of the Day each Saturday (recipient chosen by the parents). This
seemed to give the players added incentive to play well.
